چکیده

For phase transitions in disordered systems, an exact theorem provides a bound on the finite size correlation length exponent: nFS $ 2yd. It is believed that the intrinsic n satisfies the same bound. We argue that the standard averaging introduces a noise and a new diverging length scale. For n # 2yd self-averaging breaks down, disconnecting n from nFS, and the bound applies only for the latter. We illustrate these ideas on two exact examples, with n , 2yd. We propose a new method of disorder averaging, which is able to capture the intrinsic exponents. [S0031-9007(97)04880-1]

Parallel Tempering for the planted clique problem

The theoretical information threshold for the planted clique problem is $2\log_2(N)$, however no polynomial algorithm is known to recover a planted clique of size $O(N^{1/2-\epsilon})$, $\epsilon>0$. In this paper we will apply a standard method for the analysis of disordered models, the Parallel-Tempering (PT) algorithm, to the clique problem, showing numerically that its time-scaling in the h...

Finite-size scaling for Mott metal-insulator transition on a half filled nonpartite lattice

Ever since the experimental observations of the metallic behavior in two-dimensional electron gas with high-mobility Si metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor, there has been an intensive interest in the investigations of electronic transport properties in such systems. The significance of this discovery is that it has taken us to a different interaction regime where the electron cor...

تحلیل و طراحی تغییر دهنده فاز N - بیتی MEMS توزیع شده در باند Ka

Modern microwave and millimeter wave phased array antennas are attractive because of their ability to steer wave beams in space without physically moving the antenna element. A typical phased array antenna may have several thousand elements fed by a phase shifter for every antenna, which can steer the resulting array beam to different directions. Their low loss, low cost and lightweight phase s...

Lack of self-averaging in critical disordered systems.

We consider the sample to sample fluctuations that occur in the value of a thermodynamic quantity P in an ensemble of finite systems with quenched disorder, at equilibrium. The variance of P , VP , which characterizes these fluctuations is calculated as a function of the systems’ linear size l, focusing on the behavior at the critical point. The specific model considered is the bond-disordered ...

Size-dependent Bending of Geometrically Nonlinear of Micro-Laminated Composite Beam based on Modified Couple Stress Theory

In this study, the effect of finite strain on bending of the geometrically nonlinear of micro laminated composite Euler-Bernoulli beam based on Modified Couple Stress Theory (MCST) is studied in thermal environment. The Green-Lagrange strain tensor according to finite strain assumption and the principle of minimum potential energy is applied to obtain governing equation of motion and boundary c...
